JOHOR BARU: Supporters of the "Reset" movement are free to vote for any party in the Johor election – as long as it is not Pakatan Harapan, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah.
The movement's secretary-general said members and activists had been encouraged to fulfil their responsibility as voters and support candidates they believed are best suited to represent them.
"We are calling on all Reset members and activists to carry out their duty and responsibility to vote in their respective constituencies.
"If they have the means and there are candidates they believe are suitable, then work for those candidates.
"We are not setting which party they should support. The only condition is that it should not be Pakatan," he told reporters after attending the Himpunan Reset at the Danga Bay Convention Centre on Sunday (July 5) night.
When asked about constituencies where both PAS and Barisan Nasional are contesting, he said supporters should rely on their own moral compass.
"There are 50 constituencies where there is an overlap (between parties), so they should use their own wisdom.
"Look at the candidates and the parties they represent and choose those who are aligned with the principles of promoting good and preventing wrongdoing," he said.
He added that Johoreans understood that the election was not solely about politics but also about ensuring good governance for the state.
