PUTRAJAYA: Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has arrived at the Federal Court here ahead of a decision on the prosecution's final appeal against his acquittal in the Armada funds case.

Accompanying the 33-year-old politician were his fiancée, singer and actress Bella Astillah, and his mother, Sharifah Mahani Syed Abdul Aziz. They arrived at 8.50 am on Tuesday (June 30).

Syed Saddiq is expected to know at 9am whether he will remain acquitted or if the apex court reinstates his conviction and sentence over four charges involving criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of property and money laundering linked to RM1.12mil in Armada funds.

A three-member bench comprising Court of Appeal president Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Jais, Datuk Che Mohd Ruzima Ghazali and Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah is scheduled to deliver the verdict after hearing submissions from both parties in December last year.

The Court of Appeal had on June 25, 2025, unanimously acquitted and discharged Syed Saddiq, overturning the High Court's earlier sentence of seven years' imprisonment, two strokes of the cane and a RM10mil fine imposed in November 2023.

The charges included abetting criminal breach of trust involving RM1mil, misappropriating RM120,000 belonging to Armada Bumi Bersatu Enterprise, and two counts of money laundering involving RM50,000 each, allegedly transferred into his Amanah Saham Bumiputera account.
