MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in nine states until 1am (June 30)


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has warned of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in nine states until 1am on Tuesday (June 30).

In a statement at 8.40pm on Monday (June 29), MetMalaysia said the states affected are Perak (Batang Padang and Muallim); Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman); Pahang (Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin); Selangor (Hulu Selangor); Negeri Sembilan (Jempol and Tampin); Melaka (Central Melaka and Jasin); and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang and Pontian).

It also warned of bad weather in Sarawak, affecting Sibu, Kapit, Bintulu (Tatau and Sebauh), Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang; and Sabah, affecting the Interior (Nabawan, Keningau and Tambunan), West Coast (Ranau and Kota Belud) and Sandakan (Tongod, Telupid, Beluran and Sandakan).
