The cause of the fire and the total losses incurred are still under investigation.
Meanwhile in Klang, a 57-year-old father suffered burns while his 28-year-old son experienced severe breathing difficulties after a fire gutted their double-storey terrace home in Taman Seri Istana Hills early yesterday.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ashrul Riezal Asbar stated that 70% of the house was destroyed in the incident at about 5.23am. He said that upon receiving an emergency call, a team of personnel and officers from the Klang Selatan Fire and Rescue Station were rushed to the location, assisted by personnel from the Klang Utara station.
“A total of 13 personnel along with two Fire Rescue Tender engines and an EMRS vehicle were involved in the operation, and the fire was brought under control at 5.47am.
“There were two victims, a 57-year-old man who suffered about 10 per cent burns on his head and wrists, while his 28-year-old son suffered shortness of breath,” he said in a statement.
Ashrul Riezal said both victims managed to get out of the house on their own after the fire spread quickly before the EMRS team provided initial treatment and sent them to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah for further treatment.
