New energy pact opens pathways


ASHGABAT (Turkmenis­tan): A new chapter in economic and energy relations between Malaysia and Turkmenistan has been forged with the signing of a strategic partnership between PETRONAS and Turkmenistan authorities witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuha­medov.

In a statement yesterday, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said the agreement coincides with 30 years of Malaysia-Turkmenistan cooperation in the energy sector, which has been a cornerstone of bilateral ties.
