SEREMBAN: Four-term Sikamat PKR assemblyman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who is strongly tipped to contest the Linggi seat in the coming state polls, says no decision has been made on the matter.
Aminuddin, who has been Mentri Besar since 2018, said PKR’s candidates will only be announced by party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim before nomination day.
“Nothing has been finalised. I may remain in Sikamat or even be sent to Labu or anywhere the president sees fit,” he said when met after launching the “Kampung dan Sekolah Angkat Madani” programme in Labu near here yesterday.
Talk is rife that Aminuddin, who is also Port Dickson MP, will be fielded in Linggi to give Pakatan Harapan a greater chance of winning the seat.
Linggi, which is located within the Port Dickson parliamentary constituency, has always been a Barisan Nasional stronghold.
Pakatan will contest all 36 seats in the Aug 1 polls, with PKR vying for 16, DAP 11 and Amanah nine.
Aminuddin also refused to say if PKR’s four other incumbents will be retained.
Asked on a statement by state DAP chief Anthony Loke that Pakatan wants to win more than 20 seats, Aminuddin said this was achievable provided all Pakatan allies worked hard in all 36 constituencies.
“PKR and Amanah also have to work harder so that we can achieve the target,” he added.
