Zainudin Aman is new Sabah State Secretary

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government has approved the appointment of Datuk Zainudin Aman as the new State Secretary, effective June 29.

Zainudin, who is also director-general of the state Public Service Department, will replace Datuk Seri Safar Untong, whose term ends on June 28.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said Thursday (June 18) that with this appointment, it is hoped the state public service will continue to progress and remain competitive in driving Sabah's administrative transformation towards sustained progress and excellence.

This will also ensure that government policies are implemented effectively for the prosperity of the people and the state, he added.

He said the state government extended its sincere appreciation and thanks to Safar for his excellent service, dedication, professionalism and integrity since taking on the role in 2019.

Safar was appointed chairman of Tanjung Aru Eco Development Sdn Bhd (TAED), a government-linked company under the Chief Minister’s Department, with effect from June 1.
