Felda settler loses six cattle to suspected tiger attacks


A FELDA settler in Rompin, Pahang, suffered more than RM6,000 in losses after six of his cattle were found dead, in what is believed to be a tiger attack, Harian Metro reported.

Rompin OCPD Supt Sharif Shai Sharif Mondoi said the man lodged a police report after finding another one of his cows dead on Monday.

He said the six Brahman cattle were found dead with bite marks on their necks.

“The settler suspects the cattle were attacked by a tiger after discovering footprints believed to belong to the animal nearby.

“Total losses are estimated at RM6,300,” he said.

Supt Sharif Shai said the report would be referred to the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) and Veterinary Services Department for further action.
