Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected in most states, KL until 9pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) expects thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds across almost all states and Kuala Lumpur until 9pm on Sunday (June 14).

MetMalaysia, in a warning issued at 4.35pm, said adverse weather conditions are expected in Perlis, Penang, Perak and Kuala Lumpur.

Other states expected to be affected are Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Kelantan (Gua Musang), and Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Bera and Rompin).

In Selangor, the areas likely to be affected are Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Langat; in Negeri Sembilan, Jelebu, Jempol and Tampin; in Melaka, Jasin; and in Johor, Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Baru.

In Sarawak, similar weather conditions are expected in Sebauh (Bintulu), Beluru, Telang Usan, Miri and Marudi (Miri), as well as the entire Limbang division.

In Sabah, warnings have been issued covering all areas in the Interior and West Coast, as well as Tongod and Telupid (Sandakan) and Kota Marudu (Kudat). - Bernama
