PETALING JAYA: A child who needs surgery for a complex heart defect has received RM10,000 in financial assistance from the Badan Amal dan Kebajikan Tenaga Isteri-Isteri Menteri dan Timbalan Menteri (Bakti).

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and his wife Datin Seri Jessica Lim visited Inara Humairah, the daughter of Insanul Asyraf Md Yusop and Nurul Izzatie Najihah Muhamad Ruzaini, at the National Heart Institute (IJN) here on Tuesday (Oct 13).

In a TikTok post, Dr Wee said Inara needed to undergo surgery for a complex ventricular septal defect (VSD), a condition involving a hole in the wall separating the heart’s lower chambers.

"The RM10,000 contribution from Bakti was to help the family meet the cost of the required surgery," he said.

Dr Wee noted that Inara Humairah’s parents were residents of Ayer Hitam in Johor, which he represents as an MP.

He also expressed hope that the visit would encourage Inara Humairah and her family as they faced the medical challenges ahead.

“Let us all pray for Inara Humairah’s recovery and happiness,” he added.
