KUCHING: AirBorneo is stepping up maintenance efforts and reviewing supply arrangements to improve reliability and restore flight operations following recent service disruptions in Sabah and Sarawak.
The Sarawak-owned airline said it was working with its partners to expedite maintenance and return affected aircraft to service at the earliest opportunity.
To strengthen its operational resilience, AirBorneo is reviewing its maintenance and parts-supply arrangements to secure faster and more reliable access to required components.
It is also investing in fleet renewal, progressively introducing newer aircraft to deliver more consistent and reliable service over the long term.
"We fully understand how much our communities rely on these connections and we are doing everything in our power to restore normal operations quickly," AirBorneo Airways Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Megat Ardian Wira said in a statement on Thursday (June 11).
"Our teams are working around the clock with our partners to expedite maintenance. At the same time, we are actively reviewing our supply arrangements and seeking alternative partners where needed, so that we can give the people of Sarawak and Sabah the dependable connectivity they deserve,” he added.
AirBorneo reiterated that passenger and crew safety remained its highest priority during this period and was never compromised.
It said any aircraft requiring technical attention was withdrawn from service and returned only once the airline's engineers were fully satisfied that it was fit to fly.
"AirBorneo understands the inconvenience that recent disruptions have caused its guests and is doing its utmost to return services to normal as quickly as possible," it said.
