Police launch manhunt after fatal stabbing in Perak Tengah


IPOH: The police are on a manhunt for a murder suspect believed to have killed a 29-year-old man during a fight at KM12 of Jalan Trans Perak in Perak Tengah.

Perak Tengah OCPD Supt Hafezul Helmi Hamzah said the suspect, identified as Mohammad Farizzal Fazly Mohd Zulkifly, 30, from Kampung Guntur Tengkek, Negri Sembilan, is believed to have stabbed the victim during the incident on Wednesday (June 10), before dawn.

"We received a report about the incident at about 5.50am.

"The victim was brought to a clinic before being pronounced dead by a medical officer," he said in a statement.

"Investigation found that the suspect fled after the incident in a black-coloured Proton Wira with the registration number plate WGX 3707," he added.

Supt Hafezul Helmi said the case would be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

"Those with information about the incident or the suspect's whereabouts are urged to come forward to the nearest police station to help with the investigation.

"Investigating officers Insp S. Murugan and Insp Muhammad Aminuddin Haiqal Mohamed Masnani can also be contacted at 012-699 2784 and 019-675 1267 respectively," he said.
