Bank Rakyat holds BizMatch event in Tokyo to link Malaysian businesses with Japanese investors, partners


KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Rakyat held its BizMatch programme in Tokyo on Wednesday (June 10) during Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's visit to Japan to connect Malaysian companies with Japanese investors and partners.

Bank Rakyat chairman Datuk Mohd Irwan Mohd Mubarak said the programme linked Malaysian companies, Japanese investors and international industry players. He said it explored partnerships, technology sharing and access to global markets.

“The business-matching platform brought together seven Malaysian companies and facilitated engagements with Japanese and regional investors, industry leaders and strategic partners to explore cross-border collaboration, opportunities and business expansion in high-growth sectors,” he told the media in Japan on Wednesday (June 10).

Mohd Irwan said highlighted sectors included food security, aquaculture, renewable energy, green technology, palm oil, retail and manufacturing. He said the programme aligned with government efforts on entrepreneurship, market access and competitiveness.

Also present at the programme were Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Minister Steven Sim, Bank Rakyat chief executive officer Ahmad Shahril Mohd Shariff and other senior leaders of the bank.
