PETALING JAYA: The Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department has achieved 71% of its key performance indicators (KPI) for 2026 and is on track to meet all of its targets by year-end, says its director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri.
He said the department's achievement at the end of the first half of the year reflected the commitment and hard work of its personnel, but stressed that efforts must be intensified in the remaining months to ensure all targets are fulfilled.
"As of the end of the first half of 2026, the department has successfully achieved 71% of the overall KPIs that were set.
"I congratulate all personnel for their commitment. However, we cannot afford to be complacent as only a few months remain for us to achieve 100% of our targets by the end of the year," he said during the department's monthly assembly on Tuesday (July 28).
He urged every unit within the department to double its efforts and improve the implementation of programmes and initiatives instead of waiting until the final months of the year to deliver results.
"Every remaining day should be treated as an opportunity to enhance the department's performance and ensure every KPI is achieved with excellence," he said.
Comm Mohd Yusri stressed that KPIs should not be viewed merely as figures reported on paper, but as a measure of the department's effectiveness in delivering services and fulfilling its responsibilities.
"Every target must be translated into action, results and tangible impact in safeguarding public safety and maintaining public order.
"Our achievements are constantly evaluated and reflect the department's ability to carry out the trust placed upon us," he said.
While pursuing operational excellence, Comm Mohd Yusri reminded officers not to lose sight of integrity, describing it as the foundation of effective policing.
He called on all personnel to uphold the principle of promoting good and preventing wrongdoing in carrying out their duties, while encouraging colleagues to remind one another of proper conduct and to report misconduct through the appropriate channels.
He said officers should always be truthful in their words, trustworthy in carrying out their duties, transparent in conveying information and wise in making decisions.
"When these values become part of our work culture, the department will continue to produce personnel who excel not only in performance but also in integrity, character and professionalism.
"This is the spirit behind ISPO – Integrity in Service, Professionalism in Operations. If integrity guides every service and professionalism underpins every operation, God willing, the department will continue to earn the trust, respect and confidence of the public," he said.
