Man badly burnt after gas tank explodes in Penampang


KOTA KINABALU: A man was hurt after a gas cylinder exploded at his apartment in Penampang.

The 29-year-old sustained over 80% of burns on his body following the 11am incident, Monday (June 8).

Penampang Fire and Rescue Station chief Zeno Tingalan said they received a distress call at around 11.15am.

“We arrived and administered preliminary treatment to the victim before he was taken to the hospital for further treatment,” he said in a statement.

Firemen wrapped up their operations at around 11.35am.
