Johor polls: Pakatan has finalised seat negotiations, says Saifuddin Nasution


BARU PAHAT: Pakatan Harapan has finalised all seat negotiations among its coalition partners for the upcoming Johor state elections, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

The Pakatan Harapan secretary-general said the seat negotiations for all 56 seats were concluded Saturday (June 6) and was now awaiting the final nod from Pakatan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He was speaking during the launch of the Pakatan's election machinery here Saturday.

In his speech, Saifuddin advised the people of Johor not to be taken in or intimidated by those who practice toxic racial politics.

Meanwhile, Johor Pakatan chief Aminulhuda Hassan said that Barisan Nasional was banking on low voter turnout to win in the next state elections.

He said in the past elections, the elections was called during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"They (Barisan Nasional) won 40 seats with a voter turnout of about 55% then," he said, urging people to come out and vote in the upcoming state elections.
