FOR singer and celebrity chef Datuk Fazley Yaakob, the question of a soulmate is all in accordance with God’s will.
“I have never rejected anyone who is destined to be a life partner,” Berita Harian quoted him as saying.
“What’s important is my children’s acceptance,” he said, though he did not declare that he is searching for a wife.
Fazley divorced in 2024 after an 18-year marriage.
The father of four was seen attending a concert last Saturday with entrepreneur Datuk Seri Vida in Kuala Lumpur.
He dismissed any speculation of a romantic relationship, explaining that his presence there was merely to take the place of a friend who could not make it for the show.
“Datuk A. Aida told me she could not go to the concert and Datuk Seri Vida happened to invite me as well. Aida also asked if I was available to replace her.
“So, I said yes. It was all just a coincidence. When we attended the concert, it was just the two of us sitting where people saw us together.
“I really can’t escape the public attention. That’s why I made a statement on Threads to explain that I was invited by chance, said the 47-year-old.
> Life has been miserable for residents of a village in Tampin, Negri Sembilan, due to an “invasion” of flies since last year, Harian Metro reported.
“They are in the bedroom, toilet, living room and kitchen,” said Nazaruddin Johari, 49, who lives in Kampung Ulu Air Kuning Selatan.
“Some of the residents put up adhesive fly traps, but there are just too many flies.
“Even when you talk, the flies could get inside your mouth,” he lamented.
Nazaruddin said the villagers are finding it increasingly difficult to go about their daily routines.
“It is difficult for us to cook. It is not even comfortable to sit down and rest.”
He believed the situation was caused by a nearby chicken farm.
The problem, he added, is “seasonal” as the flies would disappear for two to three months after action is taken before they come back in large numbers.
