Unidentified man found drowned in Sg Kerayong


 PETALING JAYA: An unidentified man whose body was found in Sungai Kerayong near Jalan Cheras in Kuala Lumpur is believed to have drowned two to three days earlier, according to police.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud said police were informed of the body's discovery at 5.13pm on Wednesday (May 27).

He said a team of police, Fire and Rescue Department and medical personnel rushed to the scene.

"Initial examinations found that the victim was a man estimated to be below 30 years old.

"The victim is believed to have died from drowning within the past two to three days," he said in a statement on Thursday (May 28).

ACP Rosdi said an examination by a police forensic team found no signs of foul play.

He added that the body was sent to the Forensic Unit of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz in Cheras for a post-mortem.

"The case is currently classified as sudden death," he said.
