Johor MB hails MCA exco reps as diligent, effective leaders who have helped the state grow

JOHOR BARU: Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has praised the performance of two MCA exco members in his administration, describing them as capable young leaders who have contributed significantly to the state’s development.

Speaking on the Keluar Sekejap podcast, he lauded investment, trade, consumer affairs and human resources committee chairman Lee Ting Han and health and environment committee chairman Ling Tian Soon for their achievements.

Onn Hafiiz said Lee had become "the face of Johor" when engaging with investors and the business community abroad.

"Lee has helped the state attract investments. He is Johor’s face when we meet investors and the business communities in Singapore, China, the United States and the United Kingdom.

"I hope the Chinese community can see his effectiveness as a young exco," he said as the featured guest on the podcast hosted by Khairy Jamaluddin and Shahril Hamdan.

"The same goes to Ling, who has helped the state to develop health clinics such as those in Gelang Patah and Kulai that are fully funded by the state government.

"Although public health clinics are under the Federal Government’s purview, the state is... sharing the responsibility of reducing congestion at healthcare facilities," he added.

Onn Hafiz said both leaders are hardworking and should be given a chance and groomed to contribute further to the state.

"I know there was stigma and scepticism towards MCA leaders before this but I appeal to the Chinese community – don’t punish these young leaders who are good at what they do.

"I am proud of them even though they are not from Umno. We have to state the truth and I hope the Chinese community can see what they have done for Johor," he added.
