PADANG RENGAS: PKR Youth wants Members of Parliament from the party who attended a Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) event to explain their presence, says its chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim.
He said it was fair for party members to question their involvement.
“These individuals appeared with another party and they should come forward and explain.
“If they fail to do so, this issue will persist and they should not be upset if attacks continue,” he said at an event at Kampung Labu Kubong.
Muhammad Kamil said that party leadership was also expected to seek explanations from those involved.
On May 17, former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and former vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad announced the taking over of Bersama and their resignation from PKR.
Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail, Wangsa Maju MP Zahir Hassan, Lee Chean Chung (Petaling Jaya), Wong Chen (Subang), Sungai Siput MP S. Kesavan and Balik Pulau MP Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik were seen at the event.
On whether PKR grassroots support is shifting now that former leaders are in Bersama, Muhammad Kamil said party grassroots remain strong and solid.
“PKR will continue moving forward. Our focus is to strengthen the machinery and be prepared for any possibility ahead, including state elections and the general election,” he said.
Meanwhile, Perak PKR is hoping that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will defend his Tambun parliamentary seat in the next general election, said its chairman Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri.
