Boy killed, 11 hurt in three-vehicle crash in Pahang


KUANTAN: A boy was killed while 11 other people were injured in an accident involving three vehicles on the Segamat-Kuantan Highway near Muadzam Shah early Monday (May 25) morning.

A Pahang Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said an emergency call was received at 1.12am and a team from the Muadzam Shah fire station rushed to the scene.

The accident involved two cars and one multi-purpose vehicle, each carrying four persons.

"Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters carried out an operation to extricate victims trapped inside one car.

"A young boy who was pinned inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by a Health Ministry medical team," the spokesman said when contacted

He added that the other injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, while the child's body was handed over to the police for further action. – Bernama
