Motorcyclist killed in collision with excavator


SHAH ALAM: A motorcyclist was killed after being trapped beneath an excavator in a road accident at the Federal Highway exit towards the junction of a sugar factory at around 12.05am Thursday (May 21).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said a team of five firemen in an engine from the Shah Alam station were deployed to the scene after they received a call at 12.06am.

"The accident involved a motorcycle ridden by a 20-year-old man, which is believed to have collided with an excavator from the rear.

"The victim, who was trapped beneath the excavator, was pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel. The body was handed over to the police for further action," he said in a statement Thursday. - Bernama
