Motorcyclist killed after crashing into cow in Tapah


TAPAH: A motorcyclist is believed to have crashed his vehicle into a cow and died at KM12 of Jalan Tapah-Changkat Petai here.

Tapah OCPD Superintendent Abdul Malik Hasim said the police received information about the incident on Wednesday (May 20) at about 8.10pm.

"The victim is believed to have been on his way home in Sungai Manik prior to the incident.

"The vehicle was badly damaged after colliding with an object, believed to be an animal," he said in a statement on Thursday (May 21).

"There were cow droppings and skid marks on the road," he said.

"There were no signs of other vehicles at the location," he added.

Supt Abdul Malik said the victim, who was in his 20s, sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot.

"The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act.

"Those with information about the incident are urged to come forward to the police or call the district police at 05-401 1222 or the investigating officer, Insp Mohd Faizan Ahmad @ Mohammed Razikin, at 013-208 7819," he added.
