SEPANG: Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) continues to strengthen its commitment to nation building and community development through its participation in the Government’s Madani School Adoption programme, which aims to uplift underserved school communities through improved access to education, digital learning and teacher empowerment.
Guided by its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pillars of Education, Humanity and Environment, MAG has adopted SK Taman Pantai Sepang Putra in Sepang, Selangor and SMK Dato’ Syed Omar in Alor Setar, Kedah.
Through initiatives spanning digital infrastructure support, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) exposure programmes, student career engagement and professional development for educators, MAG aims to contribute towards more equitable access to opportunities and long-term social impact within local communities.
These efforts reflect MAG’s broader role in supporting the nation’s education ecosystem while contributing towards UN Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaborative partnerships that drive inclusive and sustainable community development.
MAG group chief sustainability officer Philip See said, “Education plays a vital role in shaping the nation’s future and teachers remain at the heart of that journey.
“Through the Madani School Adoption Programme, MAG aims to create meaningful impact by supporting both students and educators – from improving access to learning resources and career exposure to strengthening teacher well-being and professional development.
“As a responsible corporate citizen, we believe sustainable community development begins with investing in people and creating opportunities that empower future generations.”
On May 9, MAG conducted a Soft Skills Training programme for school teachers and support staff from SMK Dato’ Syed Omar, covering stress management, emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication and leadership competencies. Held in conjunction with Teacher’s Day, the programme was led by an MAB Academy trainer and focused on effective classroom engagement to strengthen professional capabilities and promote well-being.
To inspire future talent and encourage greater interest in STEM and aviation-related careers, MAG has also organised a Career and Motivational Talk at the school, attended by over 240 students preparing for their SPM examinations, featuring aviation professionals who shared valuable insights into opportunities within the aviation industry, while encouraging them to pursue their ambitions with resilience, discipline, and confidence.
As part of efforts to strengthen digital accessibility in schools, MAG also contributed more than 30 desktop computers to SK Taman Pantai Sepang Putra to support the school’s digital infrastructure and enhance technology-enabled teaching and learning experiences. The contribution supports efforts to narrow the digital divide and improve access to technology-enabled learning environments, particularly for underserved school communities. In the SPM 2025 results, SMK Dato Syed Omar recorded its strongest SPM performance in four years, achieving a School Average Grade (GPS) of 4.17, alongside 100 per cent SPM certificate eligibility. The number of straight-A students also increased from two students in 2024 to six students in 2025, reflecting positive progress in both academic achievement and student engagement.
MAG will continue expanding its support for both schools through upcoming initiatives, including an educational exposure visit for students as well as professional development programmes for teachers.
Through sustained initiatives focused on digital access, student empowerment and educator development, MAG remains committed to supporting resilient and future-ready communities, while contributing towards the nation’s long-term socioeconomic development and the nurturing of future aviation and industry talent.
