Fire breaks out in back-up generator room at Bank Negara


KUALA LUMPUR: A fire damaged a back-up generator room at Bank Negara Malaysia on Friday (May 15) morning.

The City Fire and Rescue Department said in a statement that it received a distress call at 7.32am.

"Swift action by the responding team successfully extinguished the fire at 7.46am," it said.

It added that around 40% of the room was damaged, and the cause of the fire was still under investigation.

No casualties were reported.
