Cashier held over missing Budi95 petrol quota

SIK: A 34-year-old Bangladeshi petrol station cashier has been arrested to assist in investigations into a case of missing Budi95 subsidy quota, suspected to have been used by other parties.

Baling OCPD Supt Brandon Richard Joe said the arrest followed a police report by a trader from Selangor, who claimed his Budi95 subsidy quota had gone missing.

“The complainant claimed to have discovered this when he was at a petrol station in Setia Alam, Shah Alam, on April 8 and checked his Budi95 app.

“The check revealed transactions of RON95 subsidised petrol being filled up using his identification card number at a petrol station in Padang Lengkuas, Kupang,” he said, Bernama reported.

Investigation also revealed there were six transactions involving 309.038 litres of petrol with an estimated value of RM1,242.33.

The transactions were made between March 18 and April 8.

The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for fraud.

The police are currently seeking local individuals connected to the case.
