Woman crashes car into Tumpat laundry

KOTA BARU: A woman accidentally drove her car into a laundry at Pasar Besar Wakaf Bharu in Tumpat while making a U-turn.

No injuries were reported.

Tumpat OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Khairi Shafie said the 11.20am Thursday (May 7) incident involved a local woman in her 50s.

He said initial investigations found that the woman was driving from Jalan Puteri Saadong before making a U-turn.

"However, it is believed that the driver accidentally stepped on the accelerator, causing the vehicle to swerve and crash into the glass door of the laundry.

"The glass door of the premises was broken but no injuries were reported," he said in a statement on Friday (May 8).

ACP Khairi said his team received a report on the incident at 12.40pm from the 32-year-old shop owner.

He said the case was being investigated under Regulation 10 of the Traffic Rules 1959 and urged anyone with information on the incident to contact the district police headquarters at 09-7257222. – Bernama
