Sg Buloh Hospital says sorry for 'technical problem' that delayed ambulance dispatch

KLANG: The Sungai Buloh Hospital has apologised to a patient over a slight delay in sending an ambulance after a distress call, which had to be made twice.

It said in a statement that the delay occurred after the first call at 1.21pm on Tuesday (May 5) owing to a technical communication problem between the emergency call centre and the nearest ambulance unit.

"Subsequently, the problem was overcome by the time of the second call at 1.30pm and an ambulance was immediately dispatched to the location," it added.

When the ambulance arrived, it was found that a family member had taken the patient, a senior citizen, to the hospital in their own vehicle, the statement said.

"The patient was referred to the emergency medical specialist for a health assessment.

"Following the assessment, the hospital decided to place the patient for observation at the yellow zone and found the patient in stable condition," read the statement, issued on Friday (May 8).

It added that the hospital was commited to ensuring efficient, quality health service delivery.

The matter of the senior citizen patient not getting an ambulance on time went viral after a post on X.
