Ketereh murder suspects brought to court for remand extension


KOTA BARU: Two teenagers arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a college student, whose body was found with 61 stab wounds, have been brought to court for a remand extension.

Berita Harian reported on Friday (May 8) that the men, both 19, were produced in court at 8.20am.

One of them is a student at a college in Kuala Krai.

They were arrested in connection with the murder of Mara Poly-Tech College (KPTM) student Nurfisya Zulkifly, also 19, who was found dead with 61 stab wounds in Kampung Simah, Ketereh, Kelantan.

The pair had been remanded for seven days from May 2.

Police are seeking an extension to facilitate further investigations into the murder.

It was reported earlier that the duo's remand is likely to be extended.

Nurfisya's blood-soaked body was found by residents at 12.22am on May 1.

Police believe she was murdered at another location before her body was dumped in the area.
