HONG Kong actress Maria Cordero sparked worry among fans when she announced that she was disposing of her assets to travel the world after discovering a “growth” in her lungs, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Although it was later found to be benign, there had been concerns for her well-being after she fell ill and was admitted to the hospital.

Cordero, 72, had confessed to feeling down upon being told about the doctors’ earlier findings.

In a livestream on Facebook, she told viewers that she planned on selling her belongings and to go travelling with friends.

A happier Cordero later announced that the growth was benign and was discharged from hospital.

The illness, however, caused her to lose weight and develop breathing difficulties.

Cordero said she had started to exercise to improve her health.

She had suffered from health issues in the past.

In 2002, she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. And about four years ago, she underwent heart surgery to address a blockage.

> A woman in Johor Baru was terrified after discovering a mobile phone being used to film her from under a toilet partition at a hotpot restaurant, China Press reported.

Identified only as Chen, she had gone to the eatery with her friends on April 28.

When she was inside the restroom, she saw an outstretched hand holding a mobile phone under the partition from an adjacent cubicle.

Chen yelled at the peeping Tom and kicked at the partition in panic.

“By the time I put on my skirt and ran out to give chase, the person was already gone,” Chen said.

The manager of the restaurant accompanied her to lodge a police report and hand over a CCTV footage.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said investigations were underway.
