THE “2026 Spring Conference on China’s Macroeconomic Forecasting and Analysis and Symposium on China: World Economic and Trade Relations Outlook” was jointly held at Xiamen University Malaysia campus by four institutions: the Center for Macroeconomic Research of Xiamen University, the Paula and Gregory Chow Institute for Studies in Economics at Xiamen University, the Center for Forecasting Science of the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Association of Development Strategy Studies.
At the conference, the research team from the Center for Macroeconomic Research of Xiamen University released the “China Macroeconomic Forecast and Analysis: Spring 2026 Report”.
Additionally, the results of the “2026 China Macroeconomic Situation and Policy Questionnaire Survey (First Half)” among 100 economists were also unveiled.

At the opening ceremony, welcoming speeches were delivered by:
> Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Sim Tze Tzin;
> Xiamen University Malaysia president Prof Wang Ruifang;
> University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) School of Economics and Management dean and Xiamen University (XMU) Paula and Gregory Chow Institute for Studies in Economics director Yongmiao Hong.
The conference also featured a symposium on China–World Economic and trade relations outlook, which included nine plenary session reports and eight parallel session reports.
Scholars and experts from well-known universities in China and abroad presented cutting-edge research findings in macroeconomics.
In a dedicated discussion session, participants also exchanged views on China’s economics education reform and the international alignment of talent training.
