JPJ set to open bidding on special 80th anniversary P_P registration number series

GEORGE TOWN: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) will open bidding soon for a special vehicle registration number series bearing the "P_P" index in conjunction with its 80th anniversary celebrations.

JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the exclusive special registration number (NPI) series was introduced as a symbolic tribute to eight decades of the department’s role and contributions in developing Malaysia’s road transport system.

"The series reflects JPJ’s identity, legacy and evolution as a leading agency in the management and enforcement of road transport nationwide," he said at a press conference here on Friday (April 17).

Aedy Fadly said bidding for the special numbers will be conducted online via the JPJeBid system, a platform designed to ensure a transparent, orderly and efficient process while allowing the public to secure high-value registration numbers based on predetermined pricing categories.

He said the bidding period will begin on Monday (April 20) and end at 10pm on April 24, with results to be announced within 24 hours on April 25.

He said the bidding prices are based on a minimum price, starting from RM20,000 for golden numbers, RM5,000 for premium numbers, RM2,500 for attractive numbers, RM500 for popular numbers and RM300 for regular numbers.

He said that all bids are subject to the terms and conditions stipulated under the JPJeBid system.

"Successful bidders are required to register their numbers to a vehicle within 12 months from the date of the official results letter," he said, urging the public to take part in this special 80th anniversary exercise.
