No violations of immigration laws involving foreign nationals seen in Changlun, Jitra, say authorities

PETALING JAYA: The Immigration Department has found no violations of immigration laws involving a group of foreign nationals spotted in Changlun and Jitra, Kedah, following checks on a viral social media post.

Immigration director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban said the individuals were holders of valid Social Visit Passes and had undergone the required immigration screening procedures upon entry into the country.

“All foreign nationals entering Malaysia are subject to inspection and control procedures at the country’s entry points.

“At the same time, the department continues to carry out monitoring and enforcement operations nationwide to ensure compliance with immigration laws,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (April 15).

Zakaria said the department has taken note of concerns raised by local residents and will step up monitoring efforts in the affected areas.

He added that appropriate action would be taken if any breaches of immigration regulations are detected.

Members of the public are also advised to obtain information from official sources and to channel any relevant information to the authorities to enable appropriate and effective action.
