Double vision strikes at Johor hospital with twin docs

IDENTICAL twin surgeons Dr Mohd Azreen Ezainy Mohmad Sallih and Dr Mohd Azreen Ezairy Mohmad Sallih share more than just a striking resemblance; they now also work at the same private hospital, reported Harian Metro.

The 40-year-old brothers are both attached to KPJ Bandar Dato’ Onn Specialist Hospital, Johor Baru, where their near- identical looks and mannerisms often leave patients and colleagues confused.

Dr Mohd Azreen Ezairy joined the private hospital in 2023 as an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist while his twin brother, an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in arthroscopy and sports surgery, came on board earlier this year.

Dr Mohd Azreen Ezairy said it is quite common for patients to confuse him with his brother.

“It constantly happens when patients greet the wrong doctor. We usually just smile and continue the conversation so they do not feel embarrassed.

“Only when the conversation starts going too far do we let them know that they are speaking to the wrong twin,” he said.

> Residents of Paka in Dungun, Terengganu, have called on the authorities to address an ongoing issue with brackish and occasionally rusty tap water, which has persisted for the past month, reported Kosmo!.

They said the water continues to have a salty taste, even after being boiled and used for drinking and cooking.

Restaurant operator Nurul Miezan Qamaliena Mazidi, 23, said she now spends more than RM300 a day on bottled water and ice to manage the problem.

“Many customers complain that the drinks still taste brackish even after adding tea, coffee, cocoa or cordial,” she said.
