Foreign composer nabbed for allegedly assaulting, threatening uni student


KUALA LUMPUR: A foreign composer has been arrested after allegedly assaulting and threatening a university student here.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud, in a statement Tuesday (Aug 4), said that the suspect had been arrested on July 26 following the incident with the victim at a residential area in Sungai Buloh.

It is believed that the incident occurred on July 11.

“Acting on intelligence, Cheras police conducted a raid at a residential unit at the Razak City Residences on July 26 at approximately 1.51am.

“During the raid, police arrested one foreign male suspect aged in his late thirties who works as a composer.

“The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation,” he said.

He added that the suspect has been remanded until Aug 10.
