Peninsula College pioneers ‘Campus-in-Industry’ learning at The Ship Campus

Recognising AI’s growing importance to the global economy, Peninsula College Georgetown launched its Bachelor of Science (Honours) Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) 3+0 programme in collaboration with the University of Plymouth.
The programme combines a strong foundation in computer science with specialised expertise in AI, machine learning, intelligent systems, data analytics and emerging technologies.
Through a blend of academic knowledge, practical application and industry-relevant learning, students are equipped with the technical and analytical capabilities to develop AI solutions for real-world challenges and become future-ready technology professionals.

Housed within the iconic, cruise-ship-themed educational hub of The Ship Campus, which is located inside the Batu Kawan Industrial Park, this programme brings Peninsula College’s signature “Campus-in-Industry” model to the forefront of tech education.

As part of the PKT Logistics Group ecosystem, Peninsula College goes beyond traditional classroom learning.
By studying at The Ship Campus, students are immersed in a thriving industrial ecosystem. BSc (Hons) Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) (BSAI) is a future ready degree designed to develop graduates with strong computer science foundations and advanced AI expertise.
Through continuous hands-on projects, team based development, and a final year industrial training placement, students gain real world experience and build industry relevant portfolios.
Emphasising ethical, secure, and responsible AI alongside technical excellence, BSAI prepares graduates to design intelligent systems, adapt to rapidly evolving technologies, and pursue high impact careers in AI, data science, and advanced computing industries.

The official launch featured a keynote address by founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Agmo Holding Berhad Tan Aik Keong, who is also a Peninsula Industry Fellow. Sharing his extensive industry experience, he highlighted the vital need for adaptability in an increasingly technology-driven world.
“AI will not simply replace humans; it will increasingly work alongside humans to amplify our capabilities.
“The people who can effectively use, manage, evaluate and collaborate with AI will be better positioned for the future,” noted Tan.
