AT 75, when many people tend to slow down, one grandfather decided to take a different approach by sitting for the SPM mathematics exam alongside his granddaughter to encourage her.
According to Makkal Osai, Varatharaju Narayana Ramasamy from Kulai, Johor scored a ‘C’ grade for the subject while his granddaughter scored 7As in the exam.
The septuagenarian said math has always been his favourite subject, and he was able to share this experience with his granddaughter.
He thanked his daughter, Letchumi Devi, his son-in-law, Letchumikanth, and other family members for their support.
Hoping that his effort may inspire his granddaughter to achieve greater things in the future, Varatharaju said age should not be a barrier to learning.
