Dr Wee pays tribute to late Lim Guan Teik

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has extended his condolences to the family of ACCCIM President Tan Sri Lim Guan Teik, who passed away on Monday (March 30) night at the age of 91.

"We bid farewell to a deeply respected elder of the Malaysian Chinese community, Tan Sri Lim Guan Teik.

"Looking back on his remarkable life, Tan Sri Lim was not only a visionary in the business world, successfully building a paper manufacturing empire through Muda Holdings, but also demonstrated exceptional leadership during his tenure as President of ACCCIM," he wrote on Facebook.

The MCA president also described Lim as a mentor and a trusted friend

"Despite the vast difference in our experience, (Tan Sri Lim) carried himself with great humility. We worked closely together in discussions on national economic policy.

"He was always patient in offering encouragement and guidance to a young member like me, giving me the confidence to voice my views during meetings.

"Thank you, Tan Sri, for your decades of outstanding contributions to Malaysia’s economy and social causes. Your spirit will continue to inspire us as we move forward in safeguarding our rights and advancing economic development," he added.

Dr Wee also extended his condolences to the late Lim's family.
