AS the 20th anniversary edition of BookFest @ Malaysia enters its final days at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), visitors are making a last-minute dash to experience the festival's most talked-about attraction – the Soaring Creativity – O2O Hong Kong Pavilion.

Ending this Thursday, March 26, the pavilion has transformed KLCC Hall 1 into a miniature version of the city under the theme "Golden Legacy, Timeless Ink: A Tribute to Hong Kong Culture".

The space recreates an iconic atmosphere with roads marked "Central" and "Kowloon", complete with dazzling neon signs, a nostalgic bookstore, a traditional pawnshop and vintage bing sutt (café) booth seating.

A major draw for culture enthusiasts is the "Creative Corner," which features the thematic exhibition "From Page to Screen: Scripting the Hong Kong Legend".

This section traces the evolution of literary masterpieces by legendary authors such as Jin Yong, Ni Kuang, and Eileen Chang into cinematic classics.

The exhibition also offers a deep dive into the cross-media journey of the recent blockbuster Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In, showing its progression from novel and comic to the silver screen.

Fans can further immerse themselves in the experience through neon light installations featuring classic movie quotes.

For those looking to expand their personal libraries, the pavilion showcases nearly 650 outstanding publishing and printing works.

A dedicated sales area offers over 800 different types of Hong Kong books at discounted prices, ranging from popular literature and children’s picture books to history and practical lifestyle titles.

This immersive experience is made possible through a significant cultural collaboration.

The Soaring Creativity – O2O Hong Kong Pavilion project is co-organised by the Hong Kong Publishing Federation and The Hong Kong Printers Association.

It is sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Before the festival concludes, visitors who complete an online questionnaire and follow the Hong Kong Pavilion social media pages can redeem a limited-edition neon-style paper clip, available while stocks last.

Organised by POPULAR, BookFest @ Malaysia 2026 remains open from 10am to 10pm.

Admission is priced at RM2.50 for a single-entry ticket or RM10 for a season pass.

Do not miss this final opportunity to experience the best of Hong Kong’s "Golden Legacy" at KLCC Hall 1.
