Primary schoolers make the nation proud at Bangkok Innovation Awards

PETALING JAYA: Four Kedah primary schoolers brought home international honours in a proud moment for their families and the nation in the field of innovation.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan expressed pride in the students’ achievement at the Bangkok Innovation Awards, where the team secured two gold medals and second place in the Primary School Engineering Category.

The four students were Ilaneyan Yuvarajan and Theerchanna Muniandy from SJKT Ko Sarangapany, as well as Ilanarun Yuvarajan and Elamaaran Muniandy from SMK Sultan Badlishah.

“This achievement proves that our younger generation possesses creative and high-impact ideas worthy of international recognition,” he said in a statement on Sunday (March 22).

He also described the success as a symbol of the younger generation’s ability to elevate the nation through innovation and academic excellence.

At the same time, the Sungai Buloh MP expressed gratitude to the teachers who guided the students throughout their journey to international success, as well as their parents, who travelled to Bangkok to provide moral support.

“Such sacrifices and encouragement are the backbone of these children’s success. It shows that success is not an individual effort, but the result of strong collective support,” he said.

He also shared a touching moment where the students asked for his autograph as a keepsake.

“Although unexpected, I saw it as a great honour. I also took the opportunity to leave them with words of encouragement to continue striving forward in their bright future,” he said.

He hopes the achievement will inspire more Malaysian youth to innovate boldly and succeed on the global stage, further strengthening the nation’s position as a competitive country.
