Sabah Head of State urges unity and vigilance this Hari Raya

KOTA KINABALU: Sabahans have been urged to protect the state’s peace and harmony while adopting good living practices for the wellbeing of the community.

In his Hari Raya Aidilfitri message, Head of State Tun Musa Aman said celebrations should serve as motivators to strengthen unity in a multiracial and religiously diverse state.

"Without unity, the community would break easily. Unity is not only about coming together in a bond, but also in thoughts, objectives, and actions," he said on Thursday (March 19).

Musa stressed that respecting differences in culture and traditions is essential to building trust and eliminating suspicion.

He also highlighted the importance of inclusive policies, quality education, and initiatives to bridge the wealth gap to ensure social justice.

"Let us work towards gathering our energies and resources to better our lives, be it morally, economically, educationally, or socially," he urged.

Musa called on the public to assist those in need so that everyone could enjoy the festivities together.

He also advised travellers to prioritise health and road safety during the festive season to prevent untoward incidents.

Concluding his message, Musa expressed his appreciation to security personnel for their dedication to protecting the nation's sovereignty.
