Sabah Governor Musa Aman's official birthday celebrations to be done prudently, says state govt

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman’s official birthday celebrations will be done prudently without affecting programme rundowns, according to the state government.

Sabah Youth Development, Sports Advancement and Creative Economy Minister Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan said this was in line with the current economic situation while still giving meaning to the programmes lined up.

“A total of 12 programmes have been lined up, including prayers, marching parade competitions and award as well as title presentations,” he said when giving a brief summary of Musa’s official birthday, which falls on March 30, on Wednesday.

He said these events, starting March 27, will be organised with responsible and cautious spending while still giving the same message and effect meant for the people.

Other than that, a Unity Leisure programme with the governor is set to be held at the Likas Sports Complex Park on April 11, followed by a shooting event with Musa and state Cabinet members on April 12, said Nizam.

“There are traditional sports scheduled to be held together with the governor as well. This is to allow the people to spend time with him and foster relations between leaders and the community,” he said.

Programmes such as exhibitions, a cultural march, and a tea party with underprivileged children are also in the programme lists up to April 30, he said.
