PUTRAJAYA: Diesel subsidy schemes under review to curb smuggling in Sabah, Sarawak.

“This is to determine whether it (scheme) should continue in its current form or be restructured,” he said during the weekly press conference on Tuesday (March 17).

According to Fahmi, this was discussed during a meeting with the cabinet and the enforcement committee.

“The Domestic Trade and Costs of Living Ministry will handle enforcement on land, while the Civil Defence Force will oversee operations in coastal and river areas. Discussions are ongoing, and the Malaysia Border Control and Protection Agency will manage the border areas.

“Issues involving abuse, misappropriation and the illegal sale of diesel were also raised and are currently being addressed by the authorities.”
