Chin files motion to enforce Sabah’s 40% revenue share

KOTA KINABALU: Independent nominated assemblyman Datuk Roger Chin has filed a Motion in the Sabah Legislative Assembly demanding full implementation of the Oct 17, 2025 High Court ruling on Sabah’s 40% revenue entitlement.

“I believe the Assembly should debate this matter openly and affirm Sabah’s constitutional rights,” he announced on his Facebook account on Monday (Mar 16).

The motion urges Putrajaya to withdraw its appeal and stay bid, comply with the court order within the mandated timelines, and recognise the 40% special grant as Sabah’s constitutional right. It also calls on the Sabah Government to defend state rights in the review process and backs enforcement steps taken by the Sabah Law Society, which brought the suit that led to the ruling.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Sunday (March 15) said the Federal Government is committed to honouring the 40% share and is only seeking clarification on parts of the court order, not challenging the entitlement itself.
