Sabah DIDR faces multiple graft charges in special corruption court

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Industrial Development and Research Department (DIDR) director Tseu Kei Yue, has been charged with 20 counts of abetment of his staff in corruption-related offences at the Kota Kinabalu Special Corruption Court.

Tseu, 58, pleaded not guilty to all 20 charges before Judge Elsie Primus on Thursday (March 12).

She set bail at RM30,000 with a RM10,000 deposit, and ordered the accused to report to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office in Kota Kinabalu every two months, surrender his passport, and refrain from contacting prosecution witnesses.

The charges, framed under Section 109 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 165, alleged that Tseu, as director, abetted several DIDR staff members in receiving valuable items and cash from companies linked to their official duties.

The alleged offences took place between December 2023 and January 2024 at various locations including Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, and Inanam.

The case is scheduled for mention on April 24, 2026.

Prosecution was led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Rustam Sanip from Sabah MACC  while Tseu was represented by defence counsel Bartholomew Jingulam.
