One needs to take care of their own homes, says Chow amid Umno's Rumah Bangsa agenda

GEORGE TOWN: With the recent introduction of the Rumah Bangsa agenda, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said one needs to take care of their own homes (referencing respective political party's).

Chow said at this point, one should concentrate on one's own work.

"We should pay attention to our work... What happens outside is beyond our control.

"We have to take care of our own homes and our work," Chow said when speaking to the press during the Penang Women Chamber of Commerce (PWCC) Chinese New Year and Women's Day Celebrations held at St Giles Wembley Hotel on Monday (March 9).

Chow was responding to questions on Umno's Rumah Bangsa and whether Pakatan Harapan and DAP see it as a threat for the coming General Elections.

Chow said they would concentrate on their work at the party.

It was reported that Umno is opening its doors to former members who were expelled or suspended, as well as individuals wishing to help fight for the party’s cause.

Party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that in the spirit of Ramadan, a period associated with mercy and forgiveness, past differences and mistakes would be set aside to begin a new chapter in strengthening Umno’s extended political family.

He said the party’s Rumah Bangsa Committee, chaired by vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, will immediately coordinate the process in accordance with procedures outlined in the party’s constitution.
