LAST Ramadan was a bitter chapter for dikir barat singer Eda Ezrin after she had to observe the fasting month while detained in Thailand and celebrate Aidilfitri away from her loved ones, Harian Metro reported.

Seven months on, the singer, whose real name is Wan Norsahidah Azlin Wan Ismail, 31, said she is in a calmer state of mind and is determined to move forward.

This Ramadan, she is spending her days running a colek (traditional snack) business at Kota Baru while striving to put the painful episode behind her.

Adding to her joy, the singer, who rose to fame with the song Bae Soba Bae, is now pregnant and due to give birth to her third child in May.

“The response at our colek stall has been extraordinary. We can hardly keep up with the customers,” she said.

On Aug 6, 2025, Eda Ezrin, her husband Mohd Affendi Ahmad, 35, and four friends were released from Narathiwat Prison after spending more than nine months in detention when Thai prosecutors failed to produce witnesses and evidence to pursue the case.

> Sinar Harian reported a tragic incident in Kuala Krai, Kelantan, where a father spent nearly two hours searching for his son’s severed right leg following a road accident.

Sayyid Iskandar Mohamad Azaha, 20, a Terengganu Sukma rugby player, lost his right leg after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car.

His younger sister, Nurul Asyiqin, 18, said their father, Mohamad Azaha Ismail took almost two hours to locate the severed limb at the scene.

“Although it was eventually found, it could not be reattached as my brother’s leg was severed from the hip down,” she said.
