Four nabbed for housebreaking in Ipoh

IPOH: Police have arrested four men for breaking into a house at Taman Pengkalan Indah here on Monday (Aug 31).

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Najib Hamzah said the suspects, aged 28 to 45, were arrested at about 2.45am on Wednesday.

He said a team from the Ipoh district Criminal Investigation Division arrested all four suspects at two hotels around the city.

“Checks found that all four suspects had previous records involving criminal and drug-related offences,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

He said police also seized a backpack, a sheathed knife, a bottle of liquor and several foreign currencies, including Vietnamese and Hong Kong currencies.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code.

ACP Muhammad Najib said police would continue their investigations to determine if the suspects were involved in other housebreaking cases in the Ipoh district.
