Suspect in murder, dismemberment of woman in Sepagar, arrives in court


KOTA KINABALU: The suspect in the murder and dismemberment of a woman in Taman Indah Permai, Sepanggar, arrived at the Kota Kinabalu Court Complex on Friday (Feb 27).

The 71-year-old suspect arrived at around 8.25am in a police van accompanied by a police patrol car (MPV) unit, reported Sinar Harian.

It was understood that the suspect would be charged in the Magistrate's Court under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Previously, Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun confirmed that the suspect would be charged in court this week.

In the incident on Feb 12, a 44-year-old woman was murdered, and her body parts were dismembered before being dumped in a garbage dump in the park.

The suspect, believed to be the victim's fiancé, was arrested on the same day.

Three other individuals, the children of the main suspect, consisting of a man and two women, were also detained to assist in the investigation.

So far, the other two parts of the victim's body, namely the left leg and right hand, have not yet been found.
