POPULAR reality show Talk To My Manager contestant Auddra Zulkifli has expressed support for fellow contestant Marsya Qistina following online backlash over her win in the show’s first season, Harian Metro reported.
Auddra, 17, said Marsya – the daughter of singer Liza Hanim – did not deserve the criticism, describing her as both talented and resilient.
“I feel sad because Marsya is very smart and kind, so I didn’t expect people to criticise her.
“She doesn’t deserve all that and deserves to be number one.
“If you hear her sing live, it gives you goosebumps.
“We all felt she truly deserved to be called the champion.”
Marsya reportedly became the target of criticism after some questioned her credibility as the inaugural winner after the show’s finale in October last year.
> From forgetting to wake up for sahur to even faking illnesses, these were the excuses six men tried to give Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) officers after they were detained for not fasting, reported Berita Harian.
The men, aged between 29 and 55, were detained by the department after a Ramadan operation at several eateries in Johor Baru and Tangkak on Feb 24.
Among those detained was a man in his 40s who was found drinking teh tarik at an eatery before attempting to flee upon spotting JAINJ officers.
“The unemployed man claimed he had a lung-related illness and needed to drink but did not produce any medical documents and merely pretended to cough in front of officers,” the department said in a statement.
“An Indonesian shop owner was detained for allegedly allowing the Muslims to eat at his premises.
The men will be charged in the Syariah Court under Section 15 of the Johor Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment which carries a fine of up to RM1,000 or six months’ imprisonment upon conviction.
